Our Women’s Cooperative

We ethically source our Grade A, Unrefined Shea Butter directly from the fields of Northern Ghana working with a Women’s Cooperative that is very close to our heart.

A very special relationship with Ghana

This relationship is a sustainable way to celebrate Ghanaian culture and empower the community and women who craft our Shea Butter and who rely heavily on the proceeds to feed their families and school their children. These women are based in Gurugu, a village in an underdeveloped part of Northern Ghana very close to our Founder, Patricia’s roots.

High concentration of Shea Butter

The high concentration of Shea Butter in all Aviela products means we can buy more from these wonderful women, so they in turn have more income and opportunity to access education, training and can buy more food for their families.

Positively influencing lives

Patricia is proud to be able to positively influence and improve livelihoods in Gurugu with Aviela’s ongoing relationship with this Women’s Cooperative.
